 The Lexington Public Schools Diversity Task Force has sponsored this award for all Lexington Public Schools employees, students, parents and Lexington residents to make nominations of an individual or a group who is employed by the Lexington School Department. Members of the broader community are also eligible to make nominations.

This award is given at the annual Town Meeting each year to the person who embodies these qualities:

  • Commitment to the Core Value of Individuality and Diversity is demonstrated through actions.
  • Positive and sustaining impact on school environment.
  • Demonstrates going above and beyond the call of duty.

The Diversity Task Force, a group of citizens appointed by the Superintendent meet monthly with Central Office staff to discuss issues and further the Core Value of Individuality and Diversity. They choose the recipient of this award with approval from the Superintendent. Nominations must be received no later than February 1st.

The Chinese American Association of Lexington has generously donated financial support for this award.
